On 26–27 March 2026, North Macedonia hosted the regional conference “Bridges to the Future: Internationalisation of Higher Education in the Western Balkans and South-Eastern Europe”. Co-organised by the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) and the World Bank, the event was a high-level dialogue bringing together ministers, university leaders, academics, researchers, policymakers, industry representatives, employers, experts and students. On the second day, the Director of the Agency for Quality, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hristina Serafimovska, delivered opening remarks, presenting the conclusions from the ministerial discussion and setting the objectives for the working part of the event, which included three parallel working sessions. One session was specifically dedicated to quality assurance policies in higher education and regional cooperation.
