PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION
The Law on Personal Data Protection gives data subjects the right to know what personal data controllers collect, process and store about them and whether such processing is lawful.

INFORMATION ON THE RIGHTS OF DATA SUBJECTS
The Law on Personal Data Protection gives data subjects the right to know what personal data controllers collect, process and store about them and whether such processing is lawful.
The AGENCY FOR QUALITY IN HIGHER EDUCATION stores and processes only those personal data prescribed by law that are necessary for cooperation and communication. It will not store or process other categories of personal data that do not fall within this group.
Personal data protection at the AGENCY FOR QUALITY IN HIGHER EDUCATION is ensured in two ways:
1. The Agency for Quality in Higher Education must comply with the Law on Personal Data Protection, which guarantees that personal data are:
- processed in accordance with the law;
- collected for specific, explicit and legally established purposes;
- processed in a manner consistent with those purposes;
- adequate, relevant and not excessive in relation to the purposes for which they are collected and processed;
- accurate, complete and, where necessary, kept up to date, with inaccurate or incomplete data deleted or corrected; and
- kept in a form that permits identification of the data subject for no longer than is necessary to fulfil the purposes for which the data were collected or further processed.
2. The data subject has the right:
- to be informed of the identity of the controller and its representative;
- to inspect the personal data filing system;
- to know what personal data are stored about them in electronic or paper form;
- to know the purposes for which their personal data are processed;
- to know the recipients or categories of recipients of the data;
- to object to the use of the data for commercial purposes or to their transfer to third parties for such purposes;
- to access and correct the data.
If your request to inspect the personal data filing system has been refused, or if you have been prevented from exercising your right of access, rectification or erasure, you have the right to submit a request to the competent personal data protection authority to determine whether your right to personal data protection has been violated.
NOTE: The rights of data subjects are prescribed by Articles 16, 17 and 18 of the Law on Personal Data Protection (Official Gazette of the Republic of North Macedonia No. 42/2020).
