On 7–8 May 2026, Cristina Ghitulica, President of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA), paid an official visit to the Republic of North Macedonia. During the visit, the ENQA President held a working meeting with the Director of the Agency for Quality in Higher Education (AQHE), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hristina Serafimovska.
The meeting addressed current processes related to improving the higher education quality assurance system in the Republic of North Macedonia, with particular emphasis on legislation currently under preparation.
The discussion also covered the new amendments to ESG 2027 (Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area) and the further deepening of cooperation between AQHE and ENQA toward alignment with European standards and good practices in higher education. The participants emphasised the importance of continuous dialogue and international cooperation in strengthening quality and trust in higher education.
