1. PERSONAL DATA

This Privacy Policy provides general information about the processing of personal data when you visit our website and/or use any of the services available through it.

We collect only those personal data, to a limited extent, such as name, surname and contact details, that are necessary to communicate with visitors to our website who have requested information from us or wish to use one of our services.

All information collected through the website is used exclusively for our purposes, primarily for communication with users, and is not and will not be disclosed to other persons on any basis. We do not collect any financial information through the website, such as payment card numbers or similar data.

Minors may not provide personal data without the approval of their parents or guardians. We undertake not to intentionally collect or use data relating to minors. We apply appropriate safeguards to protect users’ personal data and minimise the risk of unauthorised access and misuse.

2. CONTROLLER OF PERSONAL DATA FILING SYSTEMS

The controller of personal data is the AGENCY FOR QUALITY IN HIGHER EDUCATION, acting through its appointed Data Protection Officer. Personal data are processed in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Personal Data Protection.

WHOSE DATA DO WE COLLECT?

We may collect data relating to the following categories of persons:

    • Visitors to our website. We normally collect navigation data (see below), which are used to analyse visits to our website and maintain its information security. For more information about cookies, please see our Cookie Policy.
    • Visitors to our website who have requested information or wish to use one of our services. Personal data, to a limited extent, such as name, surname and contact details, that are necessary to communicate with visitors to our website who have requested information from us or wish to use one of our services.
    • Participants in public calls, competitions or advertisements. Information concerning the identity of the applicant and/or personal data of other persons included in an application, where necessary for conducting the procedure and acting within the powers prescribed by the Law on Personal Data Protection.
    • Participants in workshops, training sessions, conferences and events. Personal data necessary for conducting the relevant events organised by the AGENCY FOR QUALITY IN HIGHER EDUCATION.
    • Persons requesting access to public information under the Law on Free Access to Public Information. In order to process requests for access to information, applicants are required to provide certain data in accordance with the Law on Free Access to Public Information.
    • Persons who submit notifications and requests under the Law on Personal Data Protection. In such cases, this may also include personal data of the controller, where the controller is a natural person, for example a sole trader, and of the relevant Data Protection Officer. In all cases, these data are limited in scope, such as name, surname and contact details, and are closely related to the controller’s professional activities.

CATEGORIES OF DATA PROCESSED

(A) NAVIGATION DATA

When you visit our website, records containing the following data are created for each visitor:

  • Your Internet Protocol (IP) address;
  • The device from which you access the website, including type and model;
  • Your operating system;
  • Browser type, plugins and version;
  • The pages you visit on our website and the time spent on each page;
  • The URL of the page that referred you to our website and, in some cases, the search terms used to find our website;
  • The language of the browser you use;
  • Country, determined from the IP address.

Server logs are automatically deleted within 15 days unless circumstances require longer retention, for example in order to investigate a virus or malicious attack.

(B) DATA VOLUNTARILY PROVIDED BY USERS

The personal data we collect from your visit to our website are only those data that you voluntarily provide for specific purposes. These may include your name and surname, e-mail address, contact telephone number and address.

HOW DO WE COLLECT PERSONAL DATA?

We collect personal data through your use of our website, including contact or application forms; through our contact e-mail address; and by post.

CATEGORIES OF RECIPIENTS OF PERSONAL DATA

Personal data processing activities related to the online services available through our website are performed by employees responsible for those services or persons authorised to perform the relevant activities. We do not share data about you and/or your visit to our website with third parties, except at the request of a court, police or other competent authority acting within its powers and only where there is a lawful basis.

RETENTION PERIOD FOR COLLECTED DATA

The data we collect are retained in accordance with the law and for the period necessary to achieve the purpose of processing, in accordance with the personal data retention periods established by the AGENCY FOR QUALITY IN HIGHER EDUCATION.

WHAT ARE YOUR RIGHTS?

Your rights in relation to the processing of personal data include:

  • the right to be informed about the processing of personal data
  • the right of access to personal data
  • the right to rectification and erasure of personal data
  • the right to restriction of personal data processing
  • the right to object

RIGHT TO SUBMIT A REQUEST TO THE AGENCY FOR QUALITY IN HIGHER EDUCATION

If you believe that the manner in which we process your personal data violates the provisions of the Law on Personal Data Protection, you may submit a request to the AGENCY FOR QUALITY IN HIGHER EDUCATION, which will be handled in accordance with the Law on Personal Data Protection.

CHANGES TO THE PRIVACY POLICY

This Privacy Policy will be regularly amended and supplemented as appropriate to reflect changes and our activities.

 

2. PUBLISHED CONTENT

Content published on our website is created by our employees responsible for that content or by persons authorised to perform those activities.

If published content contains personal data, such data are published only after consent has been obtained from the person whose data are being published.

When third-party content is republished, the reliability and accuracy of the information are always verified, after which the source of the relevant information is also published.

If you believe that published content infringes your rights in any way, including copyright infringement or inaccurate information, or that the publication of personal data violates the provisions of the Law on Personal Data Protection, you may submit a request to the AGENCY FOR QUALITY IN HIGHER EDUCATION, which will be handled in accordance with the Law on Personal Data Protection.
